Meetbook HelpA speaker is mislabeled — how to fix it
Manual relabel flow, why diarization sometimes merges two voices.
Meetbook separates speakers automatically, but it doesn't know anyone's name until you tell it — every new voice starts out as a generic label like Speaker A.
Renaming a speaker
Open the meeting's Recording tab, click on a speaker label, and type or select the real name. This renames every line spoken by that voice in the transcript, the report, and the outline — not just the one line you clicked.
If the same person appears in future meetings, voiceprint recognition can recognize their voice automatically once it's turned on, so you don't have to rename them every time.
Two people got merged into one speaker
This usually happens when two voices are close in pitch and rarely both speak on their own — the diarization model has less to distinguish them by. There's no in-app split action for a merged speaker yet; contact support with the meeting link and roughly when each person spoke, and we can help review it.
One person got split into two speakers
More common with a noisy connection or a person moving between microphones (e.g. switching from a laptop mic to headphones mid-call). Rename both labels to the same person — the report and outline will read correctly even though the transcript keeps them as separate label instances.
