Building a custom AI App

If none of the 40+ built-in AI Apps fit exactly what you need, you can define your own — a custom prompt that runs against your meetings the same way a built-in app does.

What you configure

• The prompt — what you want the AI to extract, evaluate, or generate from a meeting.
• The trigger scope — which meetings it runs on (a Channel, a tag, or workspace-wide), same as any built-in app — see Enabling and configuring an AI App.
• The output format — whether it produces a short summary, a structured scorecard, or something else.

Getting good results

Custom AI Apps are only as good as the prompt behind them. Be specific about what you want extracted and in what format — a vague prompt ("tell me what's important") tends to produce vague, inconsistent output across different meetings, while a prompt with clear criteria produces more consistent results meeting to meeting.

Sharing a custom app

A custom app you build is scoped to your workspace — other teammates with access can use it, but it isn't published anywhere outside your own workspace by default.

When to just use a built-in app instead

If a built-in app covers roughly what you need, start there before building from scratch — see the full directory. Custom apps are worth the setup time mainly when your use case is genuinely specific to how your team works.
